Architectural

The creation of architecture is our core discipline. Inspiration comes from our clients desire, the rich history and landscape of New Zealand. However that inspiration must be underpinned by dedication. That is, addressing the difficut detailing issues, thinking about client's budgets like it is our own money and working collaboratively in design teams. We have completed commercial, public, educational and residential buildings. Our clients are mostly return clients for these reasons.

Urban Design

The structure of our cities and towns is if anything more important than architecture. A beautiful building can never compensate for a bad street or neighbourhood. We are one of New Zealand's most renowned urban design practices and have completed projects internationally. Completed work ranges from streetscape projects, urban design frameworks, residential and school masterplans, infrastructure projects to regional growth strategies.

Environmental Sustainable Design

ESD underpins all our work but is a key feature in some projects. Schools and residential masterplans are examples where ESD measures underpin the project performance financially as well as environmentally. We also undetake ESD assessments for the New Zealand Green Building Council and a registered Homestar Practitioners.

Expert Witnesses

Alec Couchman, Roy Blok and Kevin Brewer are experienced expert witnesses in the ESD, education and urban design fields respectively. We are experienced in advocating client objectives in mediation, expert witness conferencing as well as giving hearing evidence.
