Peter is a registered architect in New Zealand with over 30 years experience. Peter had previously worked for some of the leading design firms in the UK and New Zealand, including Manning Mitchell, Manning Associates and Jasmax, before establishing Architecture Brewer Davidson with Kevin Brewer in 1993.
Peter is a solutions focussed architect working closely with clients needs and brings his 32 years of experience to all aspects of architectural design, documentation and project management. Much of Peter’s current and recent work has specialised in the design of commercial, education and civic buildings, developing them through from Master Planning to completion of individual buildings, facilities and landscaping. Recently completed projects include masterplans for Western Springs College and Waterview Primary School, Gymnasium, Teaching Block and Technology Block at Auckland Girls Grammar along with a Performing arts Block and an Arts and Technology Block at Takapuna Grammar. A measure of the success of the firm is the continued development of facilities at these two schools with the firm currently designing a Library, Student Services and Teaching Block at Takapuna Grammar and a rebuild and extension of the library at Auckland Girls Grammar. The most recent of these projects involving the assessment and inclusion of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) principles.
Further work for the Ministry of Education includes the design of the award winning, innovative and cost effective primary and secondary school buildings that are fit for purpose. These have gone on to win awards over various sectors, the most recent being the 2010 NZIA Auckland Architecture Award for the Art & Maths Block, Auckland Girls' Grammar and the 2011 NZIA Auckland Architecture Award for Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Kotuku School in Ranui.
Peter has also designed many award winning civic buildings including the Orewa and the Warkworth Public Libraries. The practice has a wealth of experience in the urban design field as one of the principal architects advising the former Rodney District Council on a variety of projects.
