Kuaotunu House

The major design issue was the view north to the water was across a busy road. Therefore the house is designed around an internal courtyard to provide a private outdoor space. The dining and kitchen area has large sliding doors on both the exterior and courtyard walls. When these doors are opened water views are possible from the courtyard with privacy from the road. One leg of the house is semi-separate so that guests or teenage children have their own space.
